Factor VII

This factor is involved in the blood clotting process and is also known as convertin, proconvertin, stable factor, serum prothrombin conversion accelerator, cofactor V, cothromboplastin, prothrombinogen, and serum accelerator. This factor joins to calcium and tissue thromboplastin to activate factor X and is also known to be involved in congenital factor VII deficiency. It has been associated with vitamin K deficiency. Excess factor VII may be found in cases of thromboembolism.
