Endorectal ultrasound

Abbreviated ERUS, this procedure uses a probe to emit high-energy sound waves and is inserted in the rectum to create echoes and form an image of body tissue known as a sonogram. This technique is used to find abnormalities in the rectum and nearby structures. Also known as transrectal ultrasound.
