Jiaogulan/Nutrient Depletion:
  • LipidsLipids: Based on a clinical study of patients with nonalcoholic fatty liver disease, Gynostemma pentaphyllum may decrease serum triglyceride levels (4). Based on an in vitro study, Gynostemma pentaphyllum may activate liver X receptors, which play an important role in cholesterol homeostasis by serving as regulatory sensors of cholesterol levels in tissues (3).
